August 1, 2025

August 1, 2025

Today marks a truly historic milestone for the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department and the citizens of Berkeley County. After a 15-year absence, an ambulance is once again running out of our main station at 775 Bedington Road. On this day, August 1, 2025, the Berkeley County Emergency Ambulance Authority officially placed a Medic Unit in Station 40—restoring a vital service that has long been missed.

This achievement is the result of steadfast cooperation and shared commitment between the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department and the Berkeley County Emergency Ambulance Authority. Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that when our community calls 911, help is not only on the way—but closer than ever before.

Fittingly, just two hours into their first shift, the newly stationed ambulance crew responded to their first emergency call. It was a powerful reminder of why this partnership matters and how deeply it will impact lives in our area. The presence of a Medic Unit at Station 40 enhances thability to respond swiftly and effectively, reinforcing our mission to protect and serve.

We are proud of this renewed chapter in Bedington’s history and grateful to everyone who made it possible. The road to this moment was paved with dedication, collaboration, and a shared vision for a safer, more responsive Berkeley County.

Here’s to the future—one built on unity, service, and the unwavering promise that when our neighbors need us, we’ll be there.
