| This evening at 5:00 p.m., the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department relocated Attack 40 to the BCEAA Station in Marlowe. This move enables Attack 40, a four-wheel-drive mini pumper, to respond to emergencies in the Marlowe-Falling Waters area throughout the snowstorm. Attack 40 will be staffed by two career firefighters and will remain stationed in Marlowe until Monday morning.
The collaboration between the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department, Berkeley County Fire, and the Berkeley County Emergency Ambulance Authority continues to enhance service for residents in northern Berkeley County. The cooperation between these departments will allow increased coverage at Station 96, Station 40 and Station 49.
All fire and EMS stations in Berkeley County have increased career and volunteer staffing to respond during Winter Storm Fern. Residents are encouraged to contribute to public safety by staying off the roads during the storm. At home, maintain clear walkways, steps, and driveways, and keep any fire hydrants on your property or in your neighborhood accessible.
Response times may be longer during the storm. Everyone can play a role in helping first responders serve the community effectively. |
